Key Responsibilities
- Own Socure's fraud research agenda using causal inference, identification strategies, and natural experiments on the global identity graph
- Surface fraud rings, adversarial coalitions, and emerging attack typologies from PII, device, behavioral, and network signal layers
- Monitor and synthesize external signals — CFPB, FinCEN, legislative shifts, macroeconomic drivers — and connect them to internal modeling and product roadmaps
- Produce externally publishable, regulator-grade research that shapes industry narrative and supports commercial positioning
- Act as connective tissue between data science, product, policy, and go-to-market teams on fraud intelligence
Requirements
- Deep expertise in causal inference and applied econometric or statistical research methods
- Hands-on experience with large-scale identity, fraud, or behavioral datasets
- Ability to design and execute studies with findings defensible in public, regulatory, or board contexts
- Strong narrative and communication skills for non-technical senior audiences (boards, regulators, customers)
- Fluency in fraud typologies — synthetic identity, adversarial network behavior, fraud displacement effects
